Premium WordPress & Website Design Themes
People often ask me,
“Where do you find your WordPress or Website Design themes?“
I have a few places that I could talk about, but I want to limit this post to my favorite marketplace to purchase WordPress and Website Design themes. My absolute favorite theme provider is ThemeForest.
ThemeForest is an extension of the Envato Market, which hosts a slew of different web goodies. Not only can you find a fantastic design that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, but you can find premium WordPress plugins, JQuery plugins, image assets, CSS/HTML code snippets, PHP Shopping carts, and the list goes on and on and on…
If you are not familiar with the WordPress platform and why it is an excellent choice to manage your business web content, please read my post Why Have A WordPress Website.
Why I Purchase From ThemeForest:
- Prices – You can find excellent designs that cost a fraction of a custom design. My Kode Keeper website design was only $7!
- Support – In most cases, the designer/developer will offer FREE support with their design or theme.
- One-Stop-Shop – Everything thing we need to give your business an excellent website design theme to help build your brand can be found at ThemeForest.
- Inspiration – You will find some of the best WordPress and Website Design Themes at ThemeForest. I visit many designer’s profiles just to see today’s leading industry design standards, and to gather ideas for my next project.
What You Need To Know:
ThemeForest Is Not A WYSIWYG Service – Although WordPress makes it very easy to manage your web content after your installation and setup, it is very complicated process initially. This initial process should be left to professionals, or the very technically inclined. If you are a DIYer, there are some great WYSIWYG services out there just for you! WYSIWYG editors allow you to create webpages or sites with a drag-and-drop type interface. One of my personal favorites is Wix. These are great if you are somewhat technically inclined, have the time to devote to building and managing your site, and need a limited design. On the other hand, ThemeForest WordPress and Website Design themes are not for DIYers who are not familiar with coding web languages, servers, FTP software, and web hosting. You will need to understand these web basic concepts when purchasing any WordPress or Website Design themes from ThemeForest, but fear not! This is where I come in!
WordPress Installation and Child Themes (WordPress Only) – Any WordPress Design theme found at ThemeForest will expect that you are familiar with WordPress installation and setup. Wordpress.org is not that difficult to install on your server, thanks to their “5 Minute Install,” but knowing exactly where to add your new premium design theme can be difficult if you not familiar with WordPress. Also, you will definitely need to know how to create a WordPress Child Theme. A Child Theme ensures that you do not lose any customizations of your WordPress Theme when a new update is released for your theme.
HTML/CSS/JQuery/PHP – The cheapest design themes are not setup to work with WordPress out of the box. Simply put, if you do NOT know HTML, CSS, JQuery, and PHP then you will be waisting your money. Unless you hire me of course! All websites are coded with HTML for structure, CSS for styling, and JQuery for functionality. PHP is a popular technology used for your site’s contact forms. In most cases, I can convert your favorite HTML theme or template to a WordPress website.
